山慈姑全草(干品)含挥发油约0.2％，挥发油中的成分有：α-蒎烯(α-pinene)，樟烯(camphene)，β-蒎烯(β-pinene)，α-水芹烯(α-phellandrene)，柠檬烯(limonene)，β-水芹烯(β-phellandrene)，1，8-桉叶素(1，8-cineole)，对-聚伞花素(p-cymene)，γ-松油烯(γ-terpinene)，异松油烯(terpinolene)，芳障醇(linalool ),龙脑(borneol),α-松油醇(α-terpineol ),萘(naphthalene),2-异丙基-5-甲基茴香醚(2-isopropyl-5-methy-lanisole),乙酸龙脑酯(bemyl acetate)，黄樟醚(safrole)，α-古芸烯(α-gurjunene)，反式-β-金合欢烯(trans-β-famesene),α-姜黄烯(α-curcumene),甲基丁香油酚(methyl eugenol,橙花叔醇(nerolidol),细辛醚(asaricin),榄香脂素(elemicin),异榄香脂素(isoelemicin)。此外,尚含有N-异丁基-3,4-亚甲二氧基苯甲醚胺(N-isobuiyl-3,4-methylenedioxybenzamide)和N-异丁基-3,4-亚甲二氧基苯乙烯基甲酰胺(N-isobutyl-3,4-methylenedioxy-benzethenylamide)。
